Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. After graduation, her focus shift to music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. This album also featured viral hits such as the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. This song is directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. In addition to having published a book and a singer, she was also a professional as a singer. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In the year 2018 she got a series of notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
